This public event and panel discussion was organised by the Democratic Innovations Unit, Goethe University Frankfurt as part of the international workshop Creating Change through Participation and Deliberation. The panel brought together Selen Ercan, Hans Asenbaum, Nicole Curato, Brigitte Geißel, and Rikki Dean to discuss the book Research Methods in Deliberative Democracy. The discussion explored the diverse methodological approaches presented in the volume and reflected on how different research designs shape what we see, know, and evaluate in deliberative democracy research. The panel also considered how methodological choices influence both scholarly debates and the practice of democratic innovation.
