Collaboration and Impact Seminar 2In this session we will examine two research projects to illustrate how collaboration can translate
into meaningful impact. Kailey Tonini (Research Services) will show how these projects align with
UC’s Research Impact Framework and how to capture and document that impact in PURE. You are
invited to bring your project to the session; there will be time to discuss and map your impact
pathway using the template developed by Kailey. The session will be facilitated by Holly Tootell
(FoE/CASE).
Example 1 - Naomi Zouwer (FoE/CASE) will share the process and outcomes of the Creative
Learning Project, a collaborative research project between FoE and National Gallery of
Australia. The Creative Learning Project led to the development of a new pedagogical model for the
National Gallery, a Creative Learning Approach that involves pedagogical strategies specifically
tailored to the Gallery’s audiences, institutional purpose, geographical context, and national role.
Example 2 - Mathieu O'Neil (FAD/N&MRC) and Andrew Ross (FoE/N&MRC) will discuss their
Affiliated Schools Research Project, a collaboration with ACT teachers and teacher-librarians to
co-develop civic media and literacy skills. The project seeks to improve students’ information
resilience and democratic participation. Through this partnership, UC researchers, teachers, and
teacher-librarians in ACT schools have co-designed new conceptual frameworks and educational
methods to navigate the attention economy.
