Experience a unique research seminar led by the University of Canberra's Dr NaomiZouwer, alongside the National Gallery of Australia’s expert learning team: Georgia Close,
Leanne Waterhouse, and Julia Mendal.
This interactive session invites you to participate in an abbreviated school program and
learn about the collaborative Creative Learning Project between UC and the National
Gallery of Australia. This transformative project established the Creative Learning
Approach, a bespoke pedagogical model tailored to the NGA’s audiences, institutional
purpose, geographical location and national role.
As the NGA embeds the Creative Learning Approach across its school education programs,
the Gallery addresses its immediate educational goals and contributes to broader global
conversations around evidence-based, innovative learning in museums and galleries. By
prioritising collaboration, creativity, and context, the Gallery demonstrates how cultural
institutions can produce learning experiences that are not only impactful but deeply
aligned with their mission, values, and communities.
This project offers a compelling case for co-creation and co-research as a methodology for
developing educational strategies that are contextually relevant, meaningful, and
enduring
