The arts play a vital role in enhancing individual lives and fostering stronger, more cohesive communities. Extensive research indicates that engaging with the arts significantly improves quality of life, particularly in enhancing mental wellbeing and connectedness. Our workshop aims to explore this intersection of the arts, the natural environment, community, and connection through a structured workshop that emphasises active participation and reflection. The workshop recognises ways of knowing, being and doing that are grounded in conceptions of nature, acknowledging similarities and differences between an Australian Indigenous perspective and the legacy of Romantic-era ideas and beliefs that continue to influence the convergence of wellbeing, art, nature and education in the western world.
