Engaging the Industry in Research Presentation:
Quality Failures and Defects in Delivery of Building Projects: A Framework for the Australian Construction Industry

The purpose of this collaborative project with the ACT chapter of Master Builders Association is to stimulate construction quality improvements by indicating where these quality defects are critical and where preventive measures are the most effective in delivery of building projects. It is intended to identify the prevalent quality defects, analyse their characteristics and conduct root cause analysis in terms of different aspects as design, construction, context and management. As a result, a framework of the major contributing factors in quality defects and failures of construction projects in Australia and possible solutions could be developed. The outcomes will enhance the effectiveness of managing appraisal process of quality failures and defects of construction industry in ACT and Australia.
