Dr Abu Barkat Ullah was appointed as an external examiner for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) thesis at the Australian National University in 2025.
The thesis, titled “Deep Learning Challenges and Methods in Historical Document Analysis and Recognition”, investigated advanced machine learning methodologies for historical document analysis and recognition systems.
In this role, Dr Abu Barkat Ullah provided an independent expert evaluation of doctoral research, contributing to maintaining national standards of research excellence in artificial intelligence and applied data science.
