From Data to Defence: Leveraging AI for Advanced Cyber Threat Intelligence

    Activity: Talk or presentationInvited talk

    Description

I was invited to deliver a guest lecture titled “From Data to Defence” as part of the Specialist Speaker Series hosted by the Department of Computing at Solent University, United Kingdom. The session was delivered to final-year Computer Science and Software Engineering students and focused on the intersection of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and digital defence.

In this talk, I discussed how data-driven approaches and machine learning techniques can support advanced cyber threat intelligence and predictive cyber defence. I highlighted emerging trends in AI-enabled cybersecurity, including anomaly detection, behavioural analytics, and threat intelligence frameworks designed to detect and anticipate cyber attacks. I also shared insights from my research and industry collaborations in AI-driven cyber defence and cyber workforce development, demonstrating how these approaches can strengthen organisational resilience against evolving cyber threats.

The lecture aimed to provide students with practical insights into the application of data science and AI in modern cybersecurity operations and to inspire future careers in cyber defence and digital security.
