I was invited as a guest speaker at the Cybersecurity & Emerging Technologies Awareness Seminar Series hosted by the University of the District of Columbia (UDC), USA. The seminar is part of a National Science Foundation (NSF)-funded initiative aimed at advancing cybersecurity education, research, and workforce development.
In this talk, I presented “From Reactive to Predictive: Leveraging AI for Advanced Cyber Threat Intelligence.” I discussed the rapidly evolving cyber threat landscape and the limitations of traditional signature-based security approaches. I also introduced a research-driven framework that leverages machine learning and artificial intelligence to transition from reactive cybersecurity practices toward predictive cyber threat intelligence.
I explained how AI-driven analytics can analyse large-scale security data, identify emerging attack patterns, and anticipate potential threats before they materialise. The session highlighted how predictive intelligence can improve early threat detection, strengthen cyber resilience, and support proactive cyber defence strategies in modern digital ecosystems
