In this role, I contribute to the DFAT PALMS (Pacific Australia Labour Mobility Scheme) Project Advisory Task Force, providing research expertise to inform policy development and implementation of Australia’s Pacific labour mobility programs. The task force draws on academic and policy expertise to guide evidence-based decision-making on labour mobility, development outcomes, and regional partnerships in the Pacific. My contributions include advising on research design and interpretation, contributing to policy-relevant analysis, and supporting the translation of research findings into actionable recommendations for government stakeholders. This role strengthens links between academic research and national policy processes. In addition, through parliamentary testimony and contributions to parliamentary inquiries since joining the University of Canberra, I have provided expert evidence on labour mobility and development policy, contributing to the university’s role as a trusted source of independent policy advice.
