Voters will see straight through the Albanese government’s use of public resources for a government-dominated inquiry designed to discredit the opposition’s plans for nuclear energy (“PM clears decks for election”).

The CSIRO’s GenCost report has been widely criticised for its assumptions that favour wind and solar. All the government’s focus on Peter Dutton’s nuclear plan will do is help galvanise the credibility of nuclear.

In the absence of any costings for Chris Bowen’s plans, how could voters expect the government to produce accurate costings for the opposition’s policy? This government has repeatedly proved itself to be weak. This latest plot shows the government is not only weak, but afraid.
