Personal profile

Biography

In my position at UC, I teach in Heritage and Indigenous Studies through the Bachelor of Arts. My role is to curate content that engages students in cultural, historical and political issues. My research interests link visual culture, technology, connections to Country and storying. These interests are linked to my cross-cultural experiences as a Walbanja woman from the South Coast of NSW, Australia. I am passionate about memory making practices and community engagement. These passions and interests led me on a path towards working with heritage. To me, heritage is the practice of remembering, caring for and thinking deeply about the places we inhabit, through the things that we keep.

I am completing a PhD at UC called 'Flight across Country' under an ARC Linkage project called Heritage of the Air (2024). I have completed a Graduate Certificate in Careers Education and Development, RMIT (2018), Master of Liberal Arts (Visual Culture Research) (Research), ANU (2015) and a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science (Psychology), ANU (2011).

I am a Full International Member of Australia ICOMOS, have a Centre for Creative and Cultural Research HDR Membership (UC) and am a member of the newly established First Nations Collaborative Research Web (UC).
