Biography
Dr Cindy Woods (BEd, MPH, PhD)
Cindy is a Research Fellow at the Health Research Institute, University of Canberra. She is currently working in a project management role for a Movember funded mental health evaluation project involving 15 different implementation projects across seven countries. Before joining HRI, she was working at the Centre for Health Equity, Melbourne School of Population and Global Health, University of Melbourne and the Judith Lumley Centre, La Trobe University. Over the past 10 years, her research has focused on public health, Indigenous health, mental health, trauma and resilience, health services research and epidemiology. She has been co-investigator for numerous funded grants including most recently: Developing a culturally responsive trauma-informed public health emergency response framework for First Nations families and communities during COVID-19 and The impact of the recent 2019-20 bushfires on Aboriginal peoples’ mental health, wellbeing and resilience.
Skills: Cindy has extensive expertise in project management and coordination, qualitative and quantitative data analyses, analysing and evaluating primary health care services, psychometric testing of assessment tools, and monitoring and evaluating the impact of harmful substance use on emergency first responders and first responder organisations across Australia.
