Biography
Hamed is an Assistant Professor in Building & Construction Management at the School of Design and Built Environment, University of Canberra (UC) since 2019. Prior to joining academia, Hamed has worked as a site engineer and project manager in small to large and complex construction projects for more than six years across the Middle East. He is an expert in digital engineering in the built environment, construction workplace health and safety, and sustainable built environment looking into the critical challenges in the industry as well as current global issues. He has published 20+ scientific articles in top-quality journals and conference proceedings and supervised Bachelor of honours and PhD students in the areas of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Digital Engineering (DE). Hamed has received around $700,000 in government and industry funding along with several internal grants for his research.
Hamed is a research-active academic and His research is focused on multiple areas including Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), RPA, and DE applications to improve performance of the construction projects. He has worked with world-known researchers from the UK and the US on different research projects. Hamed is currently serving as a regular reviewer for several international journals and has produced more than 20 scholarly articles, most of which have been published by Q1 journals (e.g. ASCE Journal of Management in Engineering, International Journal of Project Management, Automation in Construction, Cleaner Productions, etc.).
