Biography
Dr. Hao Yang is a Lecturer in Accounting at the Faculty of Business, Government, and Law, University of Canberra. Her main research interests include sustainability accounting, specifically mandatory climate-related reporting and biodiversity reporting.
Dr. Yang has developed an interdisciplinary and policy-focused research portfolio, with publications spanning domains such as sustainability accounting, global health policy, and technology studies. She has published in high-impact ABDC A/ABS 3/Q1 journals, including ABACUS, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Australasian Journal of Environmental Management and Health Policy and Technology.
Dr Yang serves as an invited peer reviewer for the Australian Accounting Review and for the annual Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand (AFAANZ) conferences. She is an active member of the AFAANZ Special Interest Group on ESG and the Centre for Social and Environmental Accounting Research (CSEAR).
She received her PhD from the University of Newcastle, for which she was awarded the 2022 Higher Degree by Research Excellence Award and the Best Thesis Award from Newcastle Business School.
