Biography

As an emerging independent early career researcher, Hollie’s research has primarily centred around the integrated components of human biochemistry and human movement in modulating cardiovascular risk over the lifespan. Her research has predominantly focused on hypertension and cardiovascular health within the peripheral vasculature, whilst also considering nutritional and exercise intervention strategies for improving CVD risk profiles among various populations. Her PhD focused on oxidative stress and microvascular endothelial dysfunction in the development of age-related hypertension. Hollie is now a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Active Brain Research Group and is exploring the effects of exercise on peripheral and cerebral vascular health. She has a specific interest in female vascular health and ageing.
