Biography

Marijke Welvaert is an applied statistician with extensive experience in a wide variety of research domains. Focusing on the application of appropriate statistics and good statistical practice in research, she has worked with researchers in the fields of psychology, neuroimaging, ecology and sport science and medicine. She is the main developer of the R package neuRosim (www.r-project.org), a statistical evaluation tool for fMRI data and has published several papers on the evaluation of statistical practice. She previously held a position at the CSIRO, in which she was the lead investigator of a Plant Biosecurity funded project evaluating citizen science for biosecurity surveillance involving the Department of Agriculture and DAFWA. In her current role as statistician at UCRISE and the AIS, she provides statistical advice and training to sport and exercise scientists.

Fingerprint Fingerprint is based on mining the text of the person's scientific documents to create an index of weighted terms, which defines the key subjects of each individual researcher.
