Biography

Dr. Marjan Aslan is a Lecturer in Marketing and Service Management. She received her PhD from University of Canberra. Her research focuses on technology-based service delivery, service technologies (e.g., AI-driven service robots, extended reality, etc.), psychology of technologies, and experiences of consumers and frontline employees in technology-based service encounters.
By investigating factors influencing consumers’ and frontline employees’ experiences and exploring consumers' and frontline employees' perceptions and behaviour in different technology-based service settings, Marjan’s research aims at achieving Faculty of Business, Government and Laws’ mission at University of Canberra to:
  • improve citizen, employee and customer wellbeing,
  • improve socially beneficial services, and
  • improve businesses and society by encouraging responsible technology behaviours.
Engagement and service roles
Marjan serves on the editorial review board of Journal of Service Management and Journal of Service Theory and Practice.
Accepting HDR and honours students
She accepts HDR and honours students in the area of service technologies (e.g., interactions with AI-driven service agents including AI-enabled frontline employees, AI-driven service robots, chatbots, and virtual assistants; as well as applications of extended reality, encompassing augmented reality, mixed reality and virtual reality, in service delivery), psychology of technologies, consumer psychology of technology usage, human-AI collaboration in the organisational frontline, and cobotic service teams serving consumers.
