Biography

Tom has been a leading researcher in cardiovascular science for more than 30 years and has published over 120 peer-reviewed research articles. He is a former Director of the Sheffield Institute of Sports Medicine and Exercise Science at Sheffield University (UK), one of the founding Institutions of the United Kingdom Sports Institute, and Inaugural Director of the Centre for Sport & Exercise Research at Staffordshire University (UK). Tom brings a wealth of experience in research methods training and statistical analysis and has worked across most sectors of the community from ante-natal through to the oldest old. He has supported over 40 PhD students to completion and currently serves on the supervisory panel for 5 PhD students.
