Description
The 2023 Play Symposium is a two - four day event addressing the importance of creative play and creative placemaking in neighbourhoods, emphasizing the importance of play in the creation of great places where communities thrive.
The Symposium will be held during the ACT Government Winter Innovation Festival (WIF), ‘Uncharted Territory’, and included as part of the WIF program. Depending on speaker availability and costs, the event will run for at least two days between Wednesday 12 July and Friday 14 July.
The 2023 Play Symposium will be designed to meet the following 5 objectives:
-Foster collaborative cross-disciplinary and cross-sector innovative practice for improved personal, community and environmental outcomes.
-Explore innovative and alternative models of practice as ‘new and better ways to play’.
-Enable diverse local talent in a range of fields to share creative ideas and projects meaningfully and productively for improved outcomes.
-Extend the Festival impact beyond the event.
-Enable accessible and inclusive experiences for all participants.
