Project Details
Description
This project will investigate risky e-scooter behaviours among the Canberran community via observation and, importantly, identify strategies to reduce the behaviour. We have established that risky use of e-scooters is common via a 2023 survey. Unlike other jurisdictions (e.g., Brisbane), no observational study has been conducted to examine the extent of risky e-scootering in the local community. Additionally, noting the vulnerability of young adults, we will complete a qualitative exploration of strategies to reduce risky e-scootering to improve safety of the users themselves, pedestrians and the wider community.
