Adult Stem Cell Release by Novel Small Modified Sugars

A unique opportunity exists for the development of innovative adult stem cell based therapies within the ACT. The objective of the project is to develop, optimise and characterise a panel of novel small modified sugars that we have identified to initiate adult stem cell release. The capacity of bone marrow-derived adult stem cells to evolve into many different cells, and play a role in the repair and regeneration of many tissues and organs throughout the human body, has enormous potential in providing a breakthrough in current medical technologies.
