Project: Research

Project Details

Description

This project aims to evaluate an updated SPICE Program model, focusing on
implementation, impact and transferability to other health services. The objectives of this project are to:
1. Evaluate the long-term effectiveness of an updated model of care for an established multi-component post-diagnostic rehabilitation program for people with dementia and their care partners to focus on quality of life, engagement and independence, care partner self-efficacy, and avoidable hospitalisations; and
2. Document the implementation processes and evidence for the updated model of care to understand factors necessary for successful implementation, barriers, facilitators, and their association with optimal outcomes. These findings will inform co-production and dissemination of a practical guide for health service managers and allied health clinicians as a reference for implementation in other services.
