Antarctic ice-shelf stability and collapse: A geochemical history of Antarctic Peninsula ice-shelves

    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

Utilising new archives of sub-ice shelf sediment cores we will substantially expand our knowledge of Holocene ice shelf histories (stability or collapse) around Antarctica. This will include shelves with a range of sizes, surface temperatures, latitude and geometries. These critical new data will enable ice sheet modellers to refine theirnumerical models to provide more accurate projections for ice shelf futures and so better model a world warmer than present.
