AP12795: East Antarctic ice sheet during warm Pleistocene interglacials - collapse or stability?

    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

This project aims to test whether or not cosmogenic nuclides in marine sediments can be used to understand collapse of the Antarctic ice sheet during previous warm periods in coastal East Antarctica. Success and widespread application of the technique will assist refinement ice sheet models and projections of sea level rise during the next few centuries.
Outcomes include new knowledge, increased skills, modified practices or behaviours, improved technologies, better economic, social or environmental conditions.
