ARC Plant Biosecurity Training Centre

This Centre will create a transformational change in the plant biosecurity sector by working together with industry, Government and other stakeholders to train a new generation of biosecurity thinkers, leaders and innovators. Its transformational training program will be refined by authentic industry engagement to ensure the student cohort is “job ready” and aligned to industry needs. The Centre will assemble global experts in passive surveillance, remote sensing and molecular diagnostics to enable complementary cross-discipline training that will be required for the sector’s future needs. The surveillance and diagnostics training theme will be augmented by ensuring that the Centre's data is safe, secure and positioned such that rapid and robust decisions can be enacted. Importantly, these transformational technical advances will be underpinned by the societal theme that will ensure all technologies and training can be readily adopted.
