Description
This grant will deliver upon trials to test for increasing chytrid resistance in Northern Corroboree Frogs (Pseudophryne pengilleyi).
Deliverables are:
Two trials
1.Infection and clearance of live frogs of chytrid infection using heat treatment.
2.Infection and clearance of live frogs of chytrid infection using the antifungal itraconazole.
A report on the outcomes of the trials will be provided to the Office of Nature Conservation upon completion of the trials. The report will include advice as the viability of using the method to promote chytrid resistance in captive bred Northern Corroboree Frogs to be released to the wild.
