Project Details
Description
This research project aims to use molecular technologies to determine points of origin of three high priority pest species that are regular hitchhikers within shipping containers. The research would involve genome profiling of these species to provide a database with critical genetic data used to determine the provenance of current and future pest species of importance to Australia. This data will then be used to develop genetic markers capable of determining pest origin from both tissue and environmental DNA used to develop risk assessment models of commodity pathways entering Australia
