Digital Building and Built Environment Hub to Enhance the Economic Recovery, Productivity, Quality and Sustainability of the Building & Construction Industry of ACT

Building construction and education, along with their nexus, are critical employment sectors within the ACT and surrounding regions. In Australia there are currently over 2 million people employed in the construction and education sectors (eg PA 2020, AISC, 2020, Australian Jobs, 2020) with tens of thousands employed in the ACT alone. The current pandemic is having negative impacts on these sectors, however, as we move out of it, there will be increased demand for skilled personnel to help lead recovery and growth in these areas. In line with this, there is also a considerable shift in the built environment and educational industries toward technology implementation and innovation to improve quality, efficiencies and costs. Therefore, the aim of this initiative is to implement a Digital Building and Built Environment Hub (referred to be ow as the Hub) to enhance the Economic Recovery, Productivity, Quality and Sustainability of the Building & Construction Industry of ACT.
