Description

As a follow on from Innovation Connections Researcher Placement project RC51279, the Research Provider will undertake the following activities in accordance with the Activity Schedule in the Commonwealth funding Agreement.

1. The Research Recipient will commence a follow on project in the implementation of electronic health records and clinical decision support used by nurses and other clinicians that specifically investigates the enabling and barrier effects of:
1.1. Clinical governance,
1.2. Nursing leadership,
1.3. Change management and
1.4. Disruptive innovations.
Analysis will be supported by pragmatic and integrated knowledge translation and critical realism to be constructive to the realities of nursing workplace issues.


2. Evaluation methodology developed under Innovation Connections RC51279 will be further refined adopting Implementation Science and Translation Research to enable technological integration through :
2.1. Clinical simulation
2.2. Focus groups
2.3. Setting-suitable sampling
2.4. In depth discourse analysis interview techniques
This method will provide a testing framework for examining the presence or absence of elements of the Nursing Informatics Position Statement 2017 (by The Health Informatics Society of Australia (HISA), Nursing Informatics Australia (NIA), Australian College of Nursing (ACN)).
