Project Details
Description
The purpose of the Honours Scholarship is to provide financial support to Selma Richter while undertaking research at ANSTO. A stipend of $5,000 will be paid directly to the University upon receipt of the University’s tax invoice and confirmation of the student’s enrollment. The stipend is then to be paid to the student in accordance with your University policy.
This project combines spatial and temporal approaches in determining patterns in ice sheet melt and will provide valuable insight into the interaction between ice and ocean systems. Upon completion, we will have a greater understanding of the history of the Law Dome in East Antarctica, and the broader implications for future deglaciation rates in this region. Furthermore, if proved successful, Be-10 can be applied more broadly to determine past deglaciation in regions of Antarctica with subglacial basins.
