The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) seeks to procure the services of an expert who can opine, from a cultural and economic point of view, about the factors which impact First Nations people’s interactions with the Australian financial system. The service is to prepare a report addressing the above issues and responding to questions about a credit facility that has been offered by Coral Coast Distributors (Cairns) Pty Ltd (CCDC) and that is the subject of an ASIC decision to issue a stop order under 994J of the Corporations Act 2001. The ASIC decision is the subject of merits review in Coral Coast Distributors (Cairns) Pty Ltd and Australian Securities and Investments Commission (AAT Proceeding 2024/7201).
