From insight to action: Mapping misconduct and vetting vulnerable assessments in the age of GenAI

    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

Generative AI (GenAI) is changing how students complete assessments, making it harder for teachers to tell if work is genuinely their own. Schools have struggled to keep up with AI’s rapid adoption, and current policies provide little clear guidance. Some students have better access to GenAI tools than others, raising fairness concerns, especially for high-stakes assessments like the ATAR. This project will investigate how GenAI is being used in ACT Colleges, identify which assessments are most at risk, and develop strategies to ensure fair and effective assessment practices. The findings will help schools create policies that balance integrity and innovation.
