Home Economix is a decentralized digital arts lab that conducts experiments in new forms of public/community engaged art in physically distanced contexts. With a focus on developing mixed-reality techniques, this application is for funding to develop a small mixed-reality art-kits for remote collaboration and exhibition, alongside fees for lab mentors and artists. Research questions include: How can public and community based art be translated inclusively into the remote and digital setting? What on-going benefits could this furnish for regional/rural communities as well as people living with disability? How does the increasing visibility of domestic life, impact the public/private art distinction?
