Improving vision using noise in the visually impaired

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

We developed non-invasive approach to improve visual acuity in exudative(WET)-AMD. This is the first non-invasive alternative for people who have permanent vision loss due to AMD, that would work in most real-world environments. Although the approach works in some real-world settings, this project aims to extend the number of situations (indoors, vs outdoors); more clearly specify which patients benefit most (e.g., does the type of AMD matter); and determine what noise works best (e.g. white noise, or other noise characteristics).
