Project: Other

Project Details

Description

This project lead by the University of Sydney aims to develop scientifically robust and actionable advice on options to sustainably manage soils in cocoa smallholdings in PNG and support the ambitions of the Cocoa Industry Strategic Plan 2016 – 2025. Central to the success of this project will be the establishment and training for extension opportunities using the Family Farm Team (FFT) approach. Building on the success of other projects in PNG and working with the University of Canberra and PNG experts, the adoption of the FFT approach will seek to support equitable decision-making and income distribution within households as related to changing soil management practices. Primarily, this project will focus on the viability of FFT in disseminating and gaining knowledge in relation to soil health and soil management.
