Performance profiling and physical preparation in female snow sports athletes

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

Variation in lower limb biomechanics, including increased knee valgus angle, is commonly observed in both developing and elite athletes across a range of snow sports disciplines, and particularly amongst female athletes. Once detected during standard physical screening undertaken across all disciplines, attempts are commonly made to influence lower limb biomechanics using both strength training and technical expertise. What is less certain is the impact that variation in lower limb biomechanics has on performance across the different snowsports disciplines.
