Reimagining Home: Modular Design for a Zero-Carbon Future

    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

The objectives of the project are to design and document three diverse modular houses with a focus on minimising embodied carbon, and incorporating a full life-cycle awareness. The project also seeks to address the ACT sustainability
strategies, Housing Guide considerations, and Net Zero 2050 targets, all emphasising on producing new buildings and structures with low embodied impact, taking to account an approach to the design of products and systems that models human industry on nature’s processes, where materials are viewed as nutrients circulating in healthy, safe metabolisms.

The intended outcomes of the project are to offer a new perception towards modular fabrication by highlighting its potentials for production of houses with a low whole-life carbon impact.
