Project Details
Description
This project attends to the learning and knowing that students acquire in workplace practice; the learning that is situated, tacit and emergent, and cannot be prescribed in advance. It seeks to illuminate these forms of learning, so that they can be acknowledged, valued and better considered by students and university educators. This research aims to conceptualise the student learning that is impromptu and emergent in the workplace so that it is legitimised and becomes the subject of student reflection within the academy. Greater privilege is sought for the learning that is transferred from workplace to tertiary institution.
