Description
'Takeaway: Tales from the Flavour Superhighway' is an artistic program exploring decolonial food sovereignty through the prism of takeaway culture. It invites audiences to consider how regenerative practices of eating and growing, culinary archiving and distribution offer an empowering lens to reclaim food and waste economies. Takeaway is anchored by an energetic group exhibition at Canberra Contemporary and public program as part of the Canberra Art Biennial. It platforms diverse voices from rural, regional and urban contexts, creating opportunities for professional development for early and mid-career ACT and NSW artists. Together, Takeaway explores how food leftovers act as liberative nourishment and after-care, digesting more-than-human ecologies of land, water and labour.
