Project Details
Description
This project aims to transform existing accessible medication leaflets created in the United Kingdom into resources available in an Australian context, which can be used for all people who require easy-to-read medication leaflets, not just adults with intellectual disability.
This project will be a tri-agency partnership between the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, the Australian Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission and the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care, with project support from the University of Canberra. There are currently 30 developed accessible medication leaflets for UK consumers, with a focus on understand name, purpose and side effects of medication. An additional discussion in the UK versions is a focus on behaviour so that consumers are aware of why they are prescribed the medication.
