Project Details
Description
This project will develop and test a methodology to assess the economic value that Australian's place on national cultural institutions. Despite the growing area of environmental and cultural economics, few studies have been undertaken to place an economic value on cultural heritage or a group of national cultural institutions based in a national capital. This project will use contigent valuation techniques to assess the value that Australian's place on national cultural institutions. It will provide a methodology which can be used by cultural and national attractions to understand the value that the community places on such assets and the degree of public support that should be provided to maintain such assets.
