Project Details
Description
The Sustainable Shine Dome project serves a dual purpose: achieve ongoing protection and promotion of the Shine Dome’s National Heritage values; ensure progressive energy efficiencies and emissions reductions as a pathway to a sustainable future.
The project emphatically contributes to achieving Department of Environment and Energy’s Outcome 1 which includes to ‘Conserve, protect and sustainably manage Australia’s … heritage.’
This project will develop a sustainability plan for the Shine Dome consistent with EPBC National Heritage management principles and the 2018 Heritage Management Plan. The sustainability plan will be made operational by an implementation plan. Project activities and materials will enrich appreciation of listed values through expanded community engagement and promotion across a variety of social media platforms and on the Australian Academy of Science website.
