Validation of assessment tools for sports related concussion

The study will employ an observational study design in which participants in sports at risk of concussion injury will undertake assessments of visual and somatosensory function across 3 years. Testing will occur at a minimum of at least once annually as part of normal sports screening within clubs. Where a participant is considered to have received a concussion as part of their sport performance they will be assessed weekly during their recovery period.

In the context of the nuCoria - UC Collaboration Agreement; subjects will be tested using the W12 visual field test and where possible the W20. Where possible, subjects should undertake standard optometric testing (including OCT where possible).
