Project Details
Description
This project aims to develop a best-practice model for using community gardens as part of an early intervention approach to reducing alcohol and drug misuse in West Belconnen with two target groups: students transitioning to high school and members of CALD groups. The project focuses on how community gardens can be used with these target groups to encourage community connectedness and promote knowledge of, and engagement in, healthy food environments.
UC will lead an evaluation of the program development and implementation through the gathering and analysis of data in two key ways:
(a) a comprehensive literature review and analysis of similar initiatives
(b) multi-staged surveys and interview/focus groups with key stakeholders and the identified community.
