We read with interest the paper by Jaglal and colleagues on the lack of clinically useful information on osteoporosis for the family practice setting, and the related failure of implementation of guidelines. As the authors noted, research has shown that printed practice guidelines may be necessary to transmit knowledge, but they are insufficient to change practice.
