N2 - Welcome to the April 2018 edition of the Journal of Science and Medicine in Sport. In this month’s first feature article, in a study of over 2000 UK university sportspeople, O’Brien’s group add to the evidence that excessive alcohol use and aggressive behaviours are strongly linked to higher levels of masculinity. In the second feature article, Lang and co-workers in a systematic review of 142 studies incorporating 300,000 plus participants, the 20 m shuttle run was shown to be a good indicator of population health in children and youth. In the final featured article, Marshall, Cross and Haynes, report a cross-sectional study of the duration of fatigue following full body resistance exercise.
