    Abstract

This article provides a synopsis of applied linguistics research in Australasia and the Pacific. The article's focus is on Australian and New Zealand applied linguistics research, as well as the growing body of work emerging from selected near islands in the Pacific. Living in Australasia and the Pacific means living in bi/multilingual and bi/multicultural communities, and applied linguistics research across the region reflects this reality in different contexts and ways.
