    Abstract

Blocumenta at Artspace is part of a portfolio of creative research experiments exploring how Blockchain technology can decentralise systems of value across Art and Culture. This first stage of Blocumenta creative experiments comprised an exhibition and live event presented at Artspace, Sydney as part of their Ideas Platform. The exhibition featured work by international artists Jonas Lund and Terra0 (Kolling, Seidler & Hampshire), exploring the chiasmus of material and immaterial structures that can be reconfigured yb blockchain architectures. The live event (Blockathon) brought together some of Australia’s most exciting contemporary artists (Anna Madeleine, Jessica Herrington, Dara Gill & Gwen Taualai), to work with theorists, software developers, designers and entrepreneurs for 48hrs of intensive creation and rapid prototyping of arts projects and systems. This was co-presented with Bitfwd Ventures and supported by blockchain community partners.
