    Abstract

    Introduction Sport has been an early adopter of innovations in database development including the use of expert systems (Less, 1985; Perl, Lames and Miethling, 1997; Baca, 2007). This chapter explores some of uses that have been made of databases and expert systems to transform our understanding of performance in sport.
