Dreaming in Bourke

    Research output: Textual Creative WorksPoem/s

    Abstract

The poems in the sequence address property relations in terms of the alienation of land brought about by invasion (Reynolds 1981, Marr 2023), but also in terms of the way the land itself owns its original inhabitants. Questions of wellbeing and its relation to owning and being owned are also prominent. The sequence tries to find a more adequate language for these phenomena than the impoverished and ideological concept of belonging (Hage 2017).
